The MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 compliant XM5 provides 10 Gigabit demarcation and Gigabit service aggregation for wholesale Ethernet, 4G/LTE mobile backhaul, small cell, business and cloud services.
The XM5 features two 10G SFP+ or XFP ports, twelve Gigabit SFP ports, and two 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports. Typical applications include deploying the XM5 as a node on a 10G ring with Gigabit aggregation ports, or as a demarcation NID on a 10G access link with aggregation UNI ports for multiple tenants or cell towers.

Featuring a compact 1U form factor, the XM5 can be wall or rack mounted. It can be deployed indoors or outdoors in an all-weather enclosure, and supports extended temperature ranges from -40º to 75ºC. All data ports, timing I/O, and power inputs are front-loading for easy access. It is available with redundant AC or DC power inputs.
By providing Carrier Ethernet 2.0 demarcation for a variety of 10G and gigabit services, the XM5 Aggregation and Demarcation Device simplifies operations and reduces the need to stock multiple XM5 models. The 10G ports also support Gigabit SFPs enabling service providers to use the XM5 on a Gigabit backbone network and provide a seamless upgrade path to future 10G services.
